- Reciprocation—create or repay favors
- Consistency—follow lead of others
- Social Validation—norms or standards
- Liking—favor requests of those we like
- Authority—heed legitimate authority, respect credentials
- Scarcity—value scare resources (“one-of-a-kind”, “limited time”, “exclusive”)
