  The US government is an amazing source of information for all tastes.   Take the Bureau of Labor Statistics Consumer Price Index for April (embargoed until June 11) that, " In March, the Consumer Price Index for All Urban Consumers fell 0.1 percent, seasonally adjusted, and rose 2.4 percent over the last 12 months, not seasonally adjusted. The index for all items less food and energy increased 0.1 percent in March (SA); up 2.8 percent over the year (NSA)." Accompanied by a range of in-depth  charts  (below). Trump's Undermining of Government One Department at a Time - It's the Turn of the Library of Congress

Photo Credit: Library of Congress Trump's abrupt firing of Dr. Clara Hayden, head of the Library of Congress--as reported below by Alternet.org --by email and without warning was a callous and disgraceful act.   It is also potentially dangerous for US governance. Not only was it disrespectful of Dr. Hayden, who is a highly educated and accomplished professional, but it also opens the Library of Congress to inappropriate personal and political influence in its mission to provide  Congress with "authoritative, objective, and non-partisan analysis," including  Constitution Annotated  that provides analysis and interpretation of the US Constitution.  The management of the Library of Congress is not an inconsequential thing.
